VEDOMOSTI website - Russia's Ministry of Internal Affairs may become the operator of a unified biometric system used to provide banking and other online services, the daily writes. State-owned Rostelecom was chosen as the system's operator in May this year and experts believe that changing the operator could delay rolling out the system, the daily reports. - Kaspersky Lab, which specialises in making anti-virus software, has found a new virus designed to steal crypto currencies like Bitcoin, the newspaper writes, saying hype around crypto currencies has attracted hackers' attention. KOMMERSANT website - Imports of spirits like whisky and cognac to Russia more than doubled in the third quarter of 2017, the newspaper says, citing customs statistics. RBC website - One of Russia's two largest banking associations, rebranded as the Association of Banks of Russia, is becoming the dominant lobby group in the industry after long playing second fiddle to the similarly-named Association of Russian Banks, the newspaper writes. The resurgent association's new head, former first deputy chairman of the central bank Georgy Luntovsky, is recruiting former central bank employees, the paper says.
